THE VOLUNTEERS

In order to make our event unforgettable for both the triathletes and the public, together with our organizing committee, over 700 volunteers helped with the organization of the Long Distance World Championship in july 2007.
Lots of athletes said thank you to us, being pretty satisfied with the work which had been done during this event by the local organizing committee and the volunteers.

From 7 to 77 years old, we will be happy to welcome you within our team !

The organization of a World Cup requires a large number of people in order to run the competition in the best conditions. A team of 10 members work hard during the year to organize this international standard event. However, on D Day, nothing is possible without volunteers.
Your motivation and your willingness to help in a friendly atmosphere are some of the essential assets you can offer to athletes. You can help us with many issues but you all have a common role: to be involved in the heart of the competition.

The different issues : the reception of triathletes ; the race number collection ; the setting  up of the competition venue , the technical aspects of the race before D. Day ; the setting up of the bike check-in ; the refreshment areas along the courses ; the overseeing of the swimming course ; markings and road signs.

Volunteers can be recognized by the colour of their T. shirt.

Anyone, available for a few hours or a few days, with or without special skills will be welcome to join us to make the 2008 Short Distance an unforgettable event in Lorient.
